Introduction to InDesign T/TH/F June 10, 12, 13 9am to 4pm Register - Adobe PDF Link

This is a hands-on workshop introducing students to the basics of Adobe’s In Design CS3, a page layout program. The first day will be an introduction to the toolbox and palettes and how they work together. In day two, topics and concepts will be reviewed from day 1. Students will be introduced to paragraph styles, changing columns, create type on a path, and master pages. Day three will concentrate on preparing files for print output including info on Tints, Preflight, Exporting PDF, Bleeds. Participants will create new projects, design simple layouts and print to laser printer.

This is a hands-on workshop introducing participants to Adobe Photoshop CS 3. This is intended for beginners with no prior experience. The first day will be an introduction to the tools plus other palettes and how they work together. Students will be introduced to the basic editing and tonal correction tools in Photoshop to improve existing images. Editing tools include: Brush editing, Patch, Healing Brush, Clone, Burn, Dodge, and Crop. Tonal Adjustment tools include Levels, Curves and Hue/Saturation. In day two, students will be introduced scanning and more image correction techniques such as Unsharp Mask, Adjustment Layers and Extraction. Use of Selection tools, Marquee, Quick Selection, Wand, Lasso, and use of layers will be practiced. Students will start a simple composite by making selections from other images and combining them into a single file to complete on day three.

In this workshop, participants are introduced to the drawing program that has set the standard since its launch -- Adobe Illustrator. This hands-on workshop begins with an introduction to the uses of object-oriented software and a focus on the basic tools. The pen tool used in AI is the starting point to creating vector images so
we will use the first day learning how this tool works. We will create simple black and white images from templates. On day two we will add color to our images, learn how to
organize artwork into layers and explore how text is handled. On the third day we will use blending, gradients, live trace features and other more advanced features to try out various effects that are possible. In addition to demonstration, individual instruction is offered throughout the workshop.

Complete teardown and reassembly of a 4stroke air cooled engine. We will measure all parts with precision measurements. Instruction will be provided on the fuel and electrical systems if time permits. We have the repair manuals here for teachers use at this workshop. Depending on the number of teachers taking the class, you may need to bring a small number of hand tools.

The Gasoline Direct Injection training covers six major areas of gasoline direct injection:

(2) System Comprehension - system control, subsystems, electronic control unit. (3) Outlook - GDI-burn concepts, GDI + turbo, MED9. (4) System Description - system documentation, system control, torque demand, torque structure, air system, fuel system, ignition system, exhaust system, operating data, diagnostic system, monitoring, communication, accessory control. (5) Components - electronic control unit, driving pedal module, components of air, components of fuel system, exhaust gas components, ignition components, components operating data. (6) Calibration - set values stratified mode, calibration requirements, modeling of engine reaction, calibration results.

This workshop will provide intensive coverage of the Oxy-fuel Welding and Shield Metal Arc Welding courses at ACC. Participants will receive an introduction to oxy-fuel welding and cutting, including history and future in welding, safety, setup and maintenance of oxy-fuel welding and cutting equipment and supplies and an introduction to the shielded metal arc welding process. Emphasis placed on power sources, electrode selection, oxy-fuel cutting and various joint designs. Instruction provided in SMAW fillet welds in various positions.
