Claim your ACC Google Apps Account

To Create your Google account and start using your apps now…

1. Go to http://www.austincc.edu/accmail/ and click on the “First-time user?” link BELOW the green Log in button.

If you forget your username and password, go to the log in screen and select the link BELOW First-time user, Forgot your username or password?

2.Enter your ACCeID and ACCeID Password to authenticate yourself.

3. Choose the email account you want to manage from the dropdown box.

NOTE: If you are, or have been, a student at ACC, you may see your student email account.  Be sure to choose the correct email account. For an ACC employee account, select “ACCusername@austincc.edu: This is your employee ACCMail account”.

NOTE: As soon as you complete this step, you will only be able to access new ACC email through your Google account. You will still be able to access your old emails through Outlook on your local hard drive.

4. Choose your email password. 

Check out “Tips for Creating a Secure Password” for password advice.

5. Now that you have created your password, click on the “Login to ACCMail” link.

NOTE:  Your email account username will be displayed on this screen

6. Log in to Google Apps

On the ACC Google Sign In pageenter your ACC email username and password, and then click on the Sign In button.

NOTE: You are now able to sign in to your ACCmail account from www.gmail.com. You will need to enter your entire email address (ACCusername@austincc.edu) and your ACCmail password to access the new ACC email and collaboration system.

If you enter the wrong username or password you will find a captcha image appears for you to replicate and submit. If you do not successfully submit, then your account may be locked. To unlock your account, you must access the unlock captcha screen (https://www.google.com/a/austincc.edu/UnlockCaptcha).

7. Once logged on, you will see the screen below listing all of the available Google apps. Click on any of the Icons under “Your Services” to begin.

TRY IT OUT: You are encouraged to use the Google Apps web interface exclusively to take full advantage of all its capabilities.

You are finished with the transition and will start receiving all new emails in your Google Apps inbox. (You will continue to have Outlook on your local computer and you will be able to access the information if you really need to, however, you will not upload old files to your new Google Apps account).

If you would like to sync your Webmail/Outlook email, contacts, and/or calendars to Google, please complete the Help Center Service Request Form to request an appointment with a Computer Support Technician to assist you.
