  4. Minutes from the last meeting were approved after they were corrected.

  5. Item 3 on the agenda was postponed to a later meeting. A pool of multiple choice questions will be developed for discussion and approval at the first task force meeting next fall.
  6. At the November Social Science Task Force meeting, it was agreed that the course number for Introduction to GIS should be changed from GEOG 1410 to GEOG 2426.  The Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Rex Peebles, reported at the last meeting in February that GEOG 2426 could not be used since it is not a course number the Higher Education Coordinating Board of the State of Texas approves for this course. It violates their common course numbering system.

The Task Force agreed at the number did not have to be changed to 2426, but that it should be renumbered to start with 24-- to show that it is a sophomore level course and that it is worth four hours of credit.

  7. At the February meeting we proposed changes in the spring schedule that would be published for the Spring semester of 2004. We forgot to request that the new PCM Cultural Geography class be added to that proposal. We rectified that oversight at this meeting.

The Task Force approved adding  16 week and 12 week PCM Cultural Geography  classes to the Spring 2004 schedule.
