MINUTES

ECO/ANT/GOG TASK FORCE MEETING

October 22, 1999

 

  1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Livingston Kumassah at 1:06 p.m.
  2. In Attendance: James Hill, Jim Sondgeroth, Michael Pool, Carol Hayman, Al Slivinske, Elizabeth Pintar, Anthony Lee, Livinston Kumassah, Clint Davis, Karen Bell,Sheri Heiden
  3. Minutes of Previous Meeting were discussed.
  4. The textbook selection memo was passed around. It was noted that we must select new textbooks by March of 2000, and that we need a committee to streamline the process. Jim Sondgeroth noted that those on the committees should be full time faculty in discipline. It was noted that we had to search for the appropriate administrative rules regarding the composition of the committee, but that each sub-discipline should present its best selection and ask for general committee blessing.

5. The results of elections for adjunct reps was that James Hill and Charles Aki

were selected for Economics, Bill Leonard for Geography, and Karen Bell for Anthropology. It was noted that reps must document hours in task force activities.

6. The task force decided that Karen Bell would do our datatel training, and 10/29 set as a provisional date. Kumassah said he would put out a memo to that effect. Clint Davis outlined the new textbook procedures for the task force. The question arose whether or not textbooks not being used must be deleted. Kumassah said that he would talk to Rex Peebles about the matter and would email us on it.

 

7. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further matters, the meeting was adjourned at 2.22 p. m
