The Social Sciences Task Force met Friday, November 1, 2002, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Rio Grande Campus in Room 125. The following faculty were in attendance: Jake Bloom, Michael Forney,  Mike Pool, Mary Beth Booth,  Karen Bell,  Carol Hayman, Mary Chipley, Lizzie Pintar, Geof Andron, Don Jonsson, Richard Croxdale, Marianna Sidoryanskaya, Livingston Kumassah, and Jim Sondgeroth.

1. The meeting was called to order at 1 pm. 
2. The agenda for the meeting was accepted. It was:

1) Approve agenda for this meeting;
2) Approve minutes of last meeting which can be found at http://www2.austin.cc.tx.us/SOCSCI/Minutes/meet_10_04_2002.htm;
3) Discuss and approve master syllabi for the Anthropology courses and the Geography courses. All master syllabi submitted so far can be found at http://www2.austincc.edu/SOCSCI/MasterSyllabi/master_syllabi_index.htm. The master syllabi for the Economics courses were approved at the last task force meeting. We will be discussing and approving the master syllabi for the courses in  Anthropology and Geography at this meeting.
4) Adjourn

4. Master syllabi were adopted for all of the anthropology courses: ANTH 2301, ANTH 2351, ANTH 2302, and ANT 2433.

   Master syllabi were adopted for two of the four geography courses: GEOG 1302, and GEOG 1410.

   We were unable to get to two of the geography master syllabi, and consideration of those two syllabi was postponed until the next task force meeting. Those course are GEOG 1301 and GOG 2433.
