I am honored to serve as ACC’s president, and I am proud of the contributions the college makes to the quality of life in Central Texas. Since the college’s founding in 1973, ACC’s faculty, staff, and administration have been dedicated to the values that distinguish ACC’s unique role in higher education and make the college a critical community resource – access to educational opportunities, affordability, quality, diversity, and strong student success services.

ACC is the most affordable accredited higher education institution in Central Texas, and the preferred path to higher education. More than half of all area high school graduates and adult students beginning college get their start at ACC. The college is the primary trainer and re-trainer of local workers, and serves as the top educator of nurses, emergency workers, and childcare teachers so important to the community welfare.

High standards and quality distinguish ACC as an institution dedicated to student success. Our faculty and instructional programs meet the same accreditation standards as other public colleges and universities, and our faculty and staff are dedicated to excellence in the teaching and learning environment. Statistics from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board indicate that ACC’s transfer students generally perform as well or better than students who begin at a four-year college or university. ACC’s workforce, continuing education, and customized training programs are highly regarded by the business sector.

ACC offers comprehensive academic advising and counseling services, free tutorial services in our Learning Labs, open computer labs, a variety of teaching methodologies, and a host of other support services to help students meet their goals.
