ACC’s top priority is to provide students with the tools they need to meet their goals – whether it’s to transfer to a university, directly enter the workforce, get a promotion, become college-ready, or just have fun and grow personally.

ACC is committed to enhancing learning and success for all students regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, race, or socio-economic status. That means focusing on growing graduation and transfer rates, continuing to excel on licensure pass rates, and preserving the pipeline that produces students who are well-equipped for the workforce.

Transfer Performance

ACC is the primary source of transfer students to area universities.

Other transfer performance measures

  • ACC feeds into area four-year colleges and universities such as the University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University-San Marcos, St. Edward's University, Concordia University, Huston-Tillotson University, and Southwestern University, as well as Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, UT-San Antonio, and UT-Arlington, among others.
  • Data shows ACC students perform as well as or better than native four-year university students.
    • According to numbers from the University of Texas at Austin, ACC transfer students entering UT-Austin in fall 2009 earned an average 3.1 GPA after one year, compared with 3.02 for UT freshmen (and 2.9 for other Texas community college transfer students).
  • More ACC students go on to obtain a bachelor's degree than students from most Texas community colleges

ACC is the primary trainer of the local workforce. The total number of ACC degrees & certificates increased 44% between AY2003-2008, from 1,836 to 2,648 (most recent data).
