WHAT IS THE ACCCEA?
Employees have automatic membership in the Classified Employees Association (ACCCEA) by virtue of their ACC employment classification. There are nearly 700 members. The ACCCEA ’s purpose is to promote the best working conditions for its members through the collaborative efforts of respect, communication and mutual decision-making among all sections of the College. The ACCCEA has representation on college-wide committees through a shared governance process. The ACCCEA governing body consists of elected officers: President, President Elect, Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Campus Representatives in accordance with the organization’s bylaws.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

FY11 ACCCEA Election in progress - Please return all ballots to Geraldine Jennings/A&R-HBC, no later than 3:00 pm, Friday, July 30

Campus Representatives
Each campus is entitled to one representative for every 25 Classified Employees. This year we are including Round Rock.

Officers
The officers of the ACCCEA are President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Parliamentarian.

The current President-Elect automatically becomes President next term (the current President-Elect is Derek Thomas from Eastview Campus), so we are only seeking nominations for:

President-Elect

Secretary

Parliamentarian

If you would like to nominate someone, make sure they are a willing candidate that can make the time commitment to serve.

You may nominate yourself.

The responsibilities of each position can be found in our constitution at this link: http://www.austincc.edu/acccea/constitution.php#_Toc465907237

Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 12:00 - 1:00 pm, location to be announced. This meeting will be the ACCCEA Annual Awards luncheon. Please contact Judy Green, jagreen@austincc.edu, if you have received a degree or certificate during the past year, participated with a volunteer program, had perfect attendance, or any other special recognition. We would like to recognize all of you who have had accomplishments during the past year.
