The Office of Human Resources shall be responsible for evaluating and recommending the official salary grade (band, grade, sub-grade) of all non-faculty staffing table positions.  All positions will be classified in an effort to promote equity and commensurate compensation for like positions.  The Office of Human Resources shall:

 

1.    Evaluate new non-faculty staffing table positions and recommend the appropriate salary grade (bank, grade, sub-grade) prior to the position being posted.

 

2.    Review re-evaluation requests for current positions and recommend the appropriate salary grade (band, grade, sub-grade) based on significant changes in the duties and/or responsibilities of the position.  The approval of an Executive Vice President is required on all requests for re-evaluation.

 

3.    Recommend competitive compensation practices to attract and retain valuable employees by adopting a strategic perspective including benchmarking critical components of the classification system.
