Value Statement:
ACC values the contributions of all employees. When it becomes necessary to assign additional temporary duties to a non-faculty staffing table employee, the College will compensate the employee with Temporary Assignment Pay (TAP) in accordance with this policy and the guidelines.
Eligibility
A non-faculty Staffing Table employee is eligible to receive Temporary Assignment Pay under these circumstances:
A. Classified or Professional/Technical employee may be considered for Temporary Assignment Pay when the employee is assigned to a significant amount of additional duties at an equal or higher-level classification on a temporary basis; or
B. When, as a result of a department vacancy, the employee is temporarily assigned significant duties of an equal or higher job classification, based on essential duties in the job description; or
C. An employee is assigned a major project that requires skills of an equal or higher job classification that includes supervision of employees.
Term
Temporary Assignment Pay may be approved for a period of one to six months within a fiscal year. The term of pay shall end when the assignment ends.
Approval
The Executive Vice President must approve Temporary Assignment Pay.
Temporary Assignment Pay
The supervisor shall not assign additional duties until the process has been completed in accordance with the Guidelines and the TAP recommendation has been approved. Temporary Assignment Pay shall be paid on a monthly basis at the following rates, depending on the percent of duties assigned and the scope of the assignment:
Classified Employees:
Eligible Classified employees will be paid a maximum of $250 per month ($115 by-weekly pay period, over 26 pay periods) when approved for a temporary assignment.
A Classified employee shall not be assigned the essential duties of a Professional/Technical position.
A Classified employee in a regular, full-time position receiving Temporary Assignment Pay, shall not work additional time as an Hourly employee or have an hourly assignment in the College.
For Classified employees, overtime shall be kept to a minimum. The overtime rate calculation will include the Temporary Assignment Pay.
Professional/Technical Employees:
Professional/Technical Employees will be paid a maximum of $450 per month when approved for a temporary assignment.
Compensatory time for Professional/Technical employees must be given in accordance with Administrative Rule 6.10.012.
ACC reserves the right to transfer or reassign employees in accordance with Administrative Rule 6.08.004.
