Teaching is Agnes Robinson's GAME and PASSION. She has been teaching
on the college level for 37 years, 9 full-time at a liberal arts
college in Boston, and 20 at El Paso CC. This is her ninth year
at ACC. Retirement was great for a couple of years, but she missed
the vitalizing contact with students. She has grown both personally
and professionally through interaction with students and colleagues.
Your Adjunct Faculty Association provides a way for adjunct professors, who are so vital to the mission of the college, to be integrated into college governance. Representatives serve on college-wide committees just like full-time faculty. AFA brings to the Administration and Board the concerns of adjunct professors on a regular basis.
This is Robinson's third semester at Round Rock. You can find
her there most mornings, reach her by email, or leave her a note
in her mailbox on the 4th floor. The administrative and support
staffs of Texas State University and ACC, Marilyn Ritenour and
Alice Farmer, have most of the answers to questions concerning
teaching at RRH and are generous and gracious in giving support.
Avery Hall, the first building at RRH, has state of the art electronic
support in each classroom. The café provides excellent
food as well as a place to relax. And for those who want to burn
calories, there are four floors of stairs and long hallways!
