
Cecile Sanders hails from the Corpus Christi area. She completed
her B.S. in science education at Southwest Texas State University
and subsequently finished an additional year of training at Brackenridge
Hospital to achieve certification as a Medical Technologist. Cecile
worked as a medical technologist at Brackenridge and Shoal Creek
Hospitals and was then employed at the UT Student Health Center
Laboratory. In 1980, she was hired by ACC to start the Medical Laboratory
Technician Program. While at ACC, she completed her M.Ed. at UT
in Science Education. She has worked at ACC since 1980, serving
in various capacities, including Division Chair and Dean of Health
Sciences. She retired from full-time employment in 2001, after which
time she worked in ACC's Workforce Education Division and in the
ACC Grants Development Office while also teaching part-time in the
MLT Program. When not teaching or preparing for her classes, Cecile
thoroughly enjoys playing with her five grandchildren. She also
enjoys traveling all over the world with her husband, gardening,
reading, and biking.
