Art Department Overview

With almost 1500 student enrollments per semester, the art department provides comprehensive classroom and studio experiences for beginning and advanced students. Its faculty members are among Austin’s best artists. Their works appear in an annual faculty art show, in individual and group shows in Austin’s galleries, and in public and private collections. Student work is featured in an annual student art show, with a select few student works purchased for ACC’s permanent collection. Studio classes include design, drawing, life drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and photography. Core–curriculum course include: Art History I and II and Introduction to Visual Arts. Please visit the department’s web site for more information, including course descriptions, degree plans, and a gallery of faculty and student art.
