Departments

The Arts and Humanities Division at Austin Community College join seven departments with similar commitments to creative and critical thinking with an international, multi–cultural focus. The Foreign Language and English as Second Language departments are committed to second language learning and to fostering and supporting cultural diversity. The Philosophy, Religion, and Humanities department emphasizes clear, powerful, critical thinking in a historical context, balancing very well the creative thinking fostered by Art, Creative Writing, Dance, and Drama. Together, these seven departments, known in the college for their great energy and collaborative spirit, are preparing students for challenging work at four–year universities and in the workplace.
