ACC Art on Display at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

The ACC Art Department is pleased to announce that we have several of our faculty, staff and students exhibiting at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport this spring.

Hanging in the airport's international corridor is a luminous ceramic installation by Karen Bolton, a sculpture wall piece by Thomas Hilton and a painting by Melanie Hickerson. Only international travelers can view these works up close, however, if you are driving out of the ticketing area at night, you can look through the airport windows and observe Karen's glowing “Mandala.”

In the east end of the airport concourse, Sydney Yeager has a painting on exhibit, and from January 9 through April 9, 2013, the glass display cases in the center of the airport are occupied with faculty work by Gary Webernick, Brent Baggett, Ishmael Soto, Ben Appl; staff, Thomas Hilton and Julie Isaacson; and students, Gayle Sterling, Celina Garcia, Sharon Kronberg, Michael Gallup, Dominque Moraczewski, Matt Dargan, Rupal Jethwa, Abigail Zender, Catherine Simon and Katrina Raetzer. Next to these glass cases, 8 large posters display photos of ACC students working in our art studios.

The final stage to exhibit and highlight ACC's exceptional art department will be in the “Star Gallery,” a corner store front glass case in the center of the airport. This exhibit will be up from February 13 through May 13, 2013.

If you are traveling this spring, please check out the art, and if you know anyone passing through the Austin airport, please mention our exhibits.
