Acclaimed Fiction/Nonfiction Writer Neal Pollack Shares Latest Work at ACC
Pollack Reads to Audience of 75 at RGC Mainstage Theater

Neal Pollack, acclaimed Rolling Stone Magazine “Hot Writer” of 2000, read from his memoir Alternadad to an audience of around 75 at the Rio Grande Campus Mainstage Theatre on October 16th. Pollack also treated the audience to some of his latest nonfiction work, which focuses on a budding interest in yoga. In addition, he shared an excerpt from a novel–in–progress. On October 15th, Pollack visited a class of Advanced Creative Prose writers to share his thoughts on craft and the writing life.
Pollack’s other books, all works of satire, include: Never Mind the Pollacks: A Rock and Roll Novel, The Neal Pollack Anthology of Literature, and Beneath the Axis of Evil. Pollack, who writes a humor column for The New York Times Magazine, has also written for GQ, Details, and Salon. Reviewers have described his work as “bracingly honest,” “amusingly cranky,” “manic tongue–in–cheek,” and “laugh–out–loud funny.”
