Welcome to the Inaugural Season of Carnival ah!
ACC’s Arts and Humanities Division is sponsoring a 3–day carnival of public events and academic/artistic offerings in the arts and humanities, held April 2–4 on the grounds of the Rio Grande Campus.
The mission of ah! is to inspire, encourage, and support existing and new academic and artistic collaboration among the seven individual departments of the Arts & Humanities Division (Art, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Foreign Languages, Philosophy, Humanities, and Religion) and with other creative departments in the college.
In addition, Carnival ah! invites Austin’s many community arts programs and schools to the Rio Grande Campus to meet each other and the Austin public and to showcase their programs.
Each year, the Arts and Humanities Programs and Carnival ah! will focus on three themes. For the 2008–2009 season, the themes are Identity, Voice, and Dissent.
Join us at the Rio Grande Campus throughout the year for programming in the arts, creative writing, dance, drama, philosophy, and international cultures, and join us especially in April for Carnival ah!
