Course Rules
1. Students must attend one scheduled orientation session. Failure to
attend will result in withdrawal from the course.

2. Once an orientation session has been attended it is the student's responsibility
to drop the course, if necessary.
3. All testing deadlines are firm. Failure to take a test will result
in the grade of 0. One retake for each test is allowed. Retests must be
taken within the deadline. A permission slip from me is required for the
retest.
4. Failure to take the last exam will result in a grade of F for the
course. Last day to withdraw is November 26.
Course Requirements: Grades for the course will be determined
by scores on five exams. Exams will be multiple choice. Failure to take
an exam will result in 0 for that exam. Failure to take the last exam will
result in F for the course.
Course Objectives:
- To gain a broad cross-cultural background against which to view our
culture as well as contemporary social problems
- To recognize similarities and differences in human cultures
- To discover there are various valid cultural solutions to the problems
of life
- To understand the factors involved in culture change
- To understand some of the procedures used by anthropologists in studying
cultures
