Grading Policy
Grading Rationale:
Grades are based upon your total points for the semester.
Following is the schedule of graded activities and values:
1. Three tests - 100 points each
2. Final exam - 100 points (not comprehensive)
3. Two case studies - 50 points each
An in-depth analysis of various case studies involving material from class discussion and your test.
The analysis must be typewritten.
4. Oral assignment - 100 points
Brief oral presentations where the student will explain a term or concept to management. The presentation
must include the use of Power Point. A handout of the Power Point presentation must be given to all classmates
and the instructor. Presentations will be approximately 5 minutes. The student must answer questions from the
class and the teacher.
5. Info game - 25 points
Complete the "Info Game" on the internet and complete and submit the four quizzes.
6. Internet assignment - 200 points
Complete an assignment to be determined by the teacher which requires internet research. The assignment
must be typewritten.
7. Web assignment - 50 points
Print a mission statement from the World Wide Web
8. News article from the web - 75 points
Locate a news article on the web relating to the impact of globalization on the role and function of a manager.
The article must be no earlier than 7/1/02. Print the article. Write (2) paragraphs. The first paragraph should
summarize the article. The second paragraph should explain how the article you selected relates to the concept
identified. Cite text or lecture references. This assignment must be typewritten.
9. Class participation - 50 points
NO LATE WORK IS ACCEPTED!
Punctuality and attendance are very important in this class. Punctuality and good attendance are rewarded by bonus points. A bonus point is given for each class period attended completely. To qualify for the bonus point you must sign in before and sign out after class. Students who miss an excess of 20% of the classes will have their grade reduced.

B 82-90%
C 73-81%
D 64-72%
F Below 64%

Class Expectations
1. Students will attend class and be on time.
2. Students will read assignments and be prepared to discuss the material.
3. Students will complete assignments on time, no late work is accepted unless a medical excuse documents
an absence.
4. Students will participate in class discussions.
