Admission Requirements for Transfer Students:

Regular Admissions:

  • Have earned an associate's degree OR have earned at least 54 college credit hours
  • Have completed three semester hours of college algebra or a higher (HSH students substitute “MATH 1332 – Mathematics for Liberal Arts” for College Algebra)
  • Have completed English Composition I and II
  • Have passed the TASP/THEA exam or be exempt from it
  • Be eligible to return to the last institution attended

Concurrent Admissions:

  • Have at least 45 college credit hours
  • Have completed three semester hours of College Algebra or a higher (HSH students substitute “MATH 1332 – Mathematics for Liberal Arts” for College Algebra)
  • Have completed English Composition I and II
  • Have passed the TASP/THEA exam or be exempt from it
  • Must show proof of enrollment at another institution each semester of concurrent status
  • Students in concurrent admissions status will be limited to taking 12 hours at UHCL and must remain in good academic standing

Admissions Deadlines for Early Registration:

  • Fall – June 1st
  • Spring – October 1st
  • Summer – March 1st

 

Transfer Credit Information:

  • Non-traditional credit may be accept upon review.
  • Lowest grade accepted: “C” in most cases
  • Minimum GPA: 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
