Capsule Biography
I am a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, but have been living in Austin since 1969, after a stint in the Air Force brought me to this area. I did my graduate work in physics at U.T. , specializing in elementary particle physics. Although I still try to follow developments in that subject, I spend most of my time now trying to make physics more approachable by students. Some of my spare time is devoted to computers, the development of the internet, and its uses in education. Other hobbies include gardening, daydreaming, and watching my kids and grandchildren grow up. Not many things give me greater enjoyment than to see a student go on toward fulfilling their hopes and plans.

Here’s a link to the web page of the Austin Space Aces, the ACC student NASA flight team/ground crew. They won a spot last year on NASA’s reduced gravity flying laboratory, the “Weightless Wonder”, and got to run a zero gravity experiment of their own design.  Our experiment proposal for this year was not accepted, but we are now organizing for next year’s effort. If interested please contact me by email.
