College Level Examination Program

Shorten your path to a college degree by CLEP Testing! The College-Level Examination Program or CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses. There are 2,900 colleges that grant credit and/or advanced standing for CLEP exams.

Note To All Students About Awarding Credit For CLEP Exam
Score results may take between 6 - 8 weeks for freshman college comp with essay.

Please check with an advisor or counselor prior to taking any CLEP Exam, or refer to the Austin Community College Catalog Page to insure credit can be awarded.

Non ACC students need to check with an advisor or counselor at the college they plan to attend to ensure credit can be awarded. This testing center cannot advise or counsel students about CLEP scores and the credit that will be awarded.

Test Schedule

Testing is scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday, by appointment only with the first appointment time at 12:00 PM and the last appointment time at 5:00 PM.

CLEP Requirements

Identification

You must present an acceptable form of photo Identification to take the test. We will accept the following forms of Identification:

  • State issued driver's license
  • State issued identification card
  • Military identification
  • Passport
  • Government (national or foreign) identification that shows name, address, date of birth, photograph, and signature.

Fees

All candidates must pay a $25.00 registration fee prior to scheduling their exam. the CLEP Exam fee is $70.00. If a student is administered a CLEP Exam which requires a written essay there will be a addition fee of $10.00. The $25.00 registration fee is non-refundable should you fail to cancel or reschedule your exam. An additional $25.00 fee is then required to re-register.

All fees are non-refundable and due on the day of the exam in advance. Only cash, check or money orders are accepted as a method of payment. There is an ATM in the building if you need one on the day of testing.

Supplies

We provide paper and writing utensils. Students cannot bring cell phones, food, drink, pagers, calculators (unless specified by issuing school/organization), radios, tote bags, textbooks, note books, coats, hats, hand-held electronic games, or other nonessential items.

If you are subject to getting cold during long periods of seating you can bring a sweater but you must be prepared to keep it on for the duration of the exam.
