The GED consists of five (5) tests, which are administered by appointment only. Each of the five individual tests has a time limit and a set number of questions. Refer to information below so you will know what each test covers, the time limit and number of questions. The tests may be taken in any order you choose.
The GED tests are offered in English or Spanish. When you begin testing in one language, you must take all five tests in that language. If you pass each of the following tests with a score of 410 and achieve an average score of 450 over all five exams, you will receive a GED High School Equivalency Certificate from the Texas Education Agency.
Inquires should be made with the Texas Education Agency at (512) 463-9292 if your score report has not been received in three weeks, not including the week of the test. Do not call earlier than three weeks to check on your scores.

Retesting Requirements
Before a student can retest, they must wait for a period of six months or enroll in a GED Adult Education Program or receive instruction from a teacher certified by the Texas Education Agency.
To retest before the end of the six months waiting period you must bring a letter from the Adult Education Program with the program's address clearly printed on the letter, or if studying with a teacher you must bring a letter with the teacher's certification number printed on the letter. Students can call the ACC Adult Education Department at 223-5123 or 223-7528 for enrollment information.
When the program or teacher feels the student is prepared to retest (a date which may come sooner than the six month waiting period otherwise required), the teacher must write us a letter recommending that we retest the student. If the teacher is not with an adult education program, the teacher certification number must be printed on the letter so the Testing Center can verify authenticity. The student must bring that letter to his or her testing appointment in order to test.
A fee of $20.00 is charged for each retest exam.
