You must be residing in the State of Texas at the time of testing.

The State of Texas identification number required for the test is your Social Security Number.

Retesting Requirements

Before a student can retest, they must wait for a period of six months or enroll in a GED Adult Education Program or receive instruction from a teacher certified by the Texas Education Agency.

To retest before the end of the six months waiting period you must bring a letter from the Adult Education Program with the program's address clearly printed on the letter, or if studying with a teacher you must bring a letter with the teacher's certification number printed on the letter. Students can call the ACC Adult Education Department at 223-5123 or 223-7528 for enrollment information.

When the program or teacher feels the student is prepared to retest (a date which may come sooner than the six month waiting period otherwise required), the teacher must write us a letter recommending that we retest the student. If the teacher is not with an adult education program, the teacher certification number must be printed on the letter so the Testing Center can verify authenticity. The student must bring that letter to his or her testing appointment in order to test.

A fee of $18.00 is charged for each retest exam.
