Overview

According to the course description, the course will cover the following topics:

Conceptual and practical aspects of XML

Both the conceptual and practical aspects of XML will be covered.  Material for the conceptual aspects will come from the textbook. 

The practical aspects will be covered by the lab assignments, most of which will involve the development of applications using Adobe's Flex Builder 3 software (see Flex0102.htm).  If you plan to do your lab work at home, you will need to download and install the Flex Builder 3 software.

The conceptual aspects

The assigned textbook is very comprehensive and contains material in much more depth than is required for this course.  Therefore, only a portion of the textbook will be used in the course.  The remainder of the textbook will be available for reference purposes if needed.

The textbook is divided into Tutorials instead of chapters.  The following Tutorials will be covered in the course in order to cover the topics listed above:

To successfully complete this course, you must meet the following requirements:

Exams

As mentioned above, the textbook is divided into Tutorials instead of chapters.

Online study guides are available to help you to prepare for the exams.

Each exam will consist of 25 written questions very similar to the questions in the study guides that cover the tutorials for that exam.

The first exam will cover textbook Tutorials 1 and 2

The second exam will cover textbook Tutorials 3 and 5
