CRPT 1441 Conventional Exterior Finish Systems Photos - Metal Roof

This class installed a metal roof on their building.

Photos of another class installing exterior finishes and a composite shingle roof

Students have installed the decking and felt paper and the roof is ready for the metal.
The metal roofing strips are delivered - the protective plastic covering (including the blue strips) must be removed.
Students cut the trim as needed....
and install it.

Next they install the edge pieces on both ends of the building...
...and add a special tape to prevent rainwater from getting between the panels.
Meanwhile, other students and an instructor cut panels to the correct length....
""
...so students on the roof can install them. These screws will be covered by the next panel so they are protected and won't leak.
Students use a soft hammer to tap the ridges down to the underlying panel.

The finished edge.
An instructor demonstrates placing the one visible screw in the overhang area - if it eventually leaks it won't matter.

Finally, the class finishes the roof and adds the ridge cap at the peak of the roof.
