CNBT 1415 Conventional Wall Systems - building a pier and beam base photos

This class worked on a project with a Concrete I class (photos) to redo one of the areas where Conventional Wall Systems students frame buildings and Conventional Roof Systems students get hands-on experience building a roof.

The original layout of the framing area	Students begin to demolish one of the existing stem walls - the new piers built by the Concrete I class are in place.
While most of the students work to remove the prior stem wall...	...another student trims the PVC inserted in the piers that the concrete class poured...
..and then cuts the bolts that formerly anchored the stem wall to the ground.	Next, the girders are cut...
...and 3 girders are securely attached to each other (these are the "beams" of the pier and beam foundation - the building will rest on them.)	The girders are anchored to the concrete piers via the PVC tubes previously installed.
All girders are installed and ready for the sill plate and building frame.	With guidance from the instructor, students add the sill plates and the "pier and beam" foundation is completed!

Now the foundation is ready for the joists and subfloor to be added.
