COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed for students whose career
direction will require knowledge of textiles as part of the professional
prerequisites of industry.
Terminology, organization, and structure of this multi-faceted
industry will be highlighted. Working
fabric specimens (fabric swatches) will be used in conjunction with the
assignments to enhance the combined textbook/hands-on format. Many changes are brought about constantly
by technical advancements in the ever-changing environment of this highly
technical industry. Major changes and
development in the world of textiles will be covered. The mounting emphasis of textiles as a
major international industry will be examined, as well. Class format:
