*A Note About BIOL 2404 Introduction to A&P*

BIOL 2404 Intro to A&P is NOT the same as BIOL 2304/2101 Human Anatomy and will NOT substitute for that course. It will NOT serve as the prerequisite for BIOL 2305/2102 Human Physiology. BIOL 2404 is a course designed specifically to meet the A&P requirements of certain Health Science programs and is NOT designed as a preparatory course for BIOL 2304 or the Anatomy assessment test. Taking BIOL 2404 does NOT exempt you from taking the Anatomy or Physiology assessment tests.

*A Note About BIOL 2304 Human Anatomy*

BIOL 2304 Human Anatomy which is an in depth and detailed study of the human body, is the prerequisite course for BIOL 2305 Human Physiology. The two may NOT, therefore, be taken simultaneously.

A&P I will NOT substitute for BIOL 2304 Human Anatomy as the prerequisite for BIOL 2305 Human Physiology. Because A&P I typically only covers half the sytems and structures of the human body it is NOT the same as Human Anatomy.

*A Note About BIOL 2420 Intro to Microbiology*

BIOL 2420 Introduction to Microbiology has a prerequisite of BIOL 2404 (Introduction to A&P) or BIOL 2304/BIOL 2101 (Human Anatomy) (or equivalents with lecture AND lab) that is STRICTLY enforced. On the first day of class students will have to present proof that they have the prerequisite.

If you have completed both A&P I and A&P II (with labs) at another school, this will fulfill the Anatomy preresuisite for Intro to Micro.

If you have completed only A&P I at another school, please call the Biology Department (223-3321) to find out if this will meet the requirements.

*A Note About Course Sequence*

ACC Health Sciences programs that require Human Physiology prefer students take their prerequisite courses in the following order:

Semester 1: BIOL 2304/2101 Human Anatomy
Semester 2: BIOL 2420 Intro to Micro
Semester 3: BIOL 2305/2102 Human Physiology and HPRS 2300 Pharmacology for Health Professionals
