WorkSource is working with Austin Community College Biotechnology program to train students for entry-level positions in biotechnology companies. The areas that the program is training students for are packaging, entry - level manufacturing and solution/media in companies. The total program is 10 weeks; the 1 st part of the program consists of three courses in applied mathematics, documentation and a laboratory course. The student then completes the 2 nd part of the program with an internship in a company for 5 weeks. The grant will cover all tuition and books for the courses and a stipend of $100 a week during the internship.

The requirements for the program are: 18 or over, no felonies, US citizen or able to work in the US, if you are a male and born after 12/31/1959 you must be registered with the Selective Service System, high school graduate or have a GED and be "college ready" or in no developmental program.
