SUBJECT: Directive on Strategic Plan -- President=s Plan on Employee Compensation

That the Board of Trustees adopt a resolution directing the President to include in the Strategic Plan completion of his three-year proposal to bring ACC employee compensation up to market competitive levels and to include financial proposals in the budgeting process for the next three years.

This item is consistent with Board Policies C-3 , Duties and Responsibilities, College President; E-1, Master Planning; and E-3, College Budget.

The Resolution provides direction to the President for a three-year planning period. The Resolution directs the President to add a provision to the Strategic Plan which was identified during the workshop meetings as a desirable addition.

The budget proposals required by this directive are additional costs beyond recent compensation packages approved by the Board. Administration will need to provide estimated costs through the budget process.

The Board of Trustees directs the President to include in the Strategic Plan completion of his three-year plan to bring ACC employee compensation up to market-competitive levels and into full compliance with Board Policy, with appropriate proposals to implement the plan included in the FY2000, FY2001, and FY2002 budget recommendations.
