SUBJECT: Appointment of ACC Representative to Meet with City of Austin regarding Reinvestment Zone Proposal

RECOMMENDATION
That the Board appoint Dilip Anketell to serve as ACC's representative to meet with the City of discuss the City of Austin's Reinvestment Zone proposal.

RELATED BOARD POLICY OR BOARD PLANNING PRIORITY
This item is consistent with Board Policy E-1 (Master Planning).

RATIONALE
The City plans to hold a public hearing on the proposal to create a reinvestment zone; it is no longer asking other entities such as the College to approve a waiver of the sixty-day notice of the hearing. City staff have indicated that the City will proceed to create the Reinvestment Zone and dedicate incremental tax revenue for public improvements in the Zone. The City does not expect other entities to participate, and it should have no financial impact on ACC. It is desirable, however, to have the College represented in the discussions
