SUBJECT: Purchase of Duplication and Office Paper, District-Wide

PROPOSED ACTION:
That the Board of Trustees approve a contract for the purchase of duplication and office paper from Western Paper Company.

RELATED BOARD POLICY OR PLANNING PRIORITY
This item is consistent with Board Policy C-10 (Purchasing).

RATIONALE
This contract is to be used by all ACC departments for their duplication and office paper supply needs. The contract would have an initial period of two (2) years with renewals for two (2) additional years.

The solicitation for duplication and office paper was advertised in the local daily newspaper and also in several weekly minority-owned newspapers (See Attachment 1 for newspaper and names and dates advertised).

Request for Proposal packets were sent to eight vendors who were identified as paper suppliers (See Attachment 2). There were no HUB Vendors identified as paper suppliers. Bids were received from Western Paper Company and Clampitt Paper Company. Since Western had the lower unit prices, they are recommended for the paper contract. The five items that they "No Bid" will be procured from the State Contract.

BUDGETARY CONSIDERATION:
Funds for these items are included in the approved FY 2000 Operating Budget.
This contract is estimated to be approximately $140,000 per year.
