Veronica Rivera was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2004. In addition, she served one year as Secretary of the Board. She currently serves on the Advisory Council of the ACC Center for Public Policy & Political Studies and served on the Board of Directors of the ACC Foundation from 2004 to 2008.

She is an attorney and of counsel with Akers, & Boulware-Wells, LLP, Austin, Texas. She is a former school teacher and also has worked in the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division.

Veronica serves on the Board of Directors and is the co-founder of Las Comadres, a network for Hispanic women and serves on the Board of Directors of BiG Austin and the Foundation Board of the Texas Community College Teachers Association. She is a past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin and served on its Foundation Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Austin and Hispanic Austin Leadership.

Veronica received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree ifrom Texas State University in San Marcos and graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Teacher Certificate in Broad Social Studies from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.
