Veronica Rivera was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2004 and currently serves as Vice-Chair. In addition, she served one year as Secretary of the Board. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the ACC Foundation.
She is an attorney with Bovey, Akers, & Bojorquez, LLP, Austin, Texas. Veronica was formerly an attorney with Sheets & Crossfield in Round Rock, Texas, and Minter, Joseph & Thornhill in Austin, Texas. She is a former school teacher and also has worked in the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division.
Veronica is a past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin and served on its Foundation Board and a graduate of Leadership Austin and Hispanic Austin Leadership. She is the co-founder of Las Comadres, a network for Hispanic women.
Veronica received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1998 from the University of Texas School of Law. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 1995 from Texas State University in San Marcos and graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Teacher Certificate in Broad Social Studies in 1989 from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. |
