Accreditation

The purpose of publishing the name, address and contact numbers of Austin Community College’s primary accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, is to meet federal requirements. Publication of this information is to enable interested constituents (1) to learn about the accreditation status of Austin Community College District, (2) to file a third-party comment at the time of Austin Community College District’s decennial review, or (3) to file a complaint against Austin Community College District for alleged non-compliance with a standard or requirement. The ACC Business Studies division is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)

The Culinary Arts Program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation.

The accreditation process of each of these organizations is rigorous and ongoing.  Accreditation helps insure that our programs maintain high standards.  This, in turn, guarantees that our courses will be accepted by other educational institutions for transfer credit, and that our students receive the best education possible.    

In addition to accreditation, Business Studies programs have received approval from professional organizations to offer courses leading to professional licensure.

Our Real Estate Program is approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission to offer courses required for the Agent License and the Broker License.

Our Professional Accounting Program is approved by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy to offer all of the Accounting and Business coursework required to sit for the CPA exam. 

The curriculum in our International Business Program is designed to prepare students to take the NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional Exam.
