Campus Advisory Committee
Membership

CAC Membership

The size of each CAC may vary according to the needs/interests of the group but, at a minimum, will include 16 individuals appointed as follows:
  • 9 Board-appointed local representatives:
    • Each Trustee will appoint 1 representative per campus
    • May "reappoint" community member currently serving
    • Ideally, appointees will include:
      • Local business owners
      • Area ISDs
      • Area neighborhood associations
      • Community-based organizations
  • 4 faculty/staff representing each employee group
  • 2 students (SGA Campus Representatives)
  • Terms of Membership:
    • Campus Manager will serve as a permanent CAC member
    • 4 faculty/staff and 2 students will serve one-year terms
    • Board-appointees will serve 2-year terms (may be renewable)
    • All CAC members may be reappointed for one additional sequential term
  • Two Co-Chairs will serve:
    • One elected by the group, eligible members for Co-Chair from among Trustees' appointees
    • Campus Manager, who will coordinate meeting logistics, resources, etc.
  • No person shall serve on more than one CAC during the same time period

Meetings

  • The CAC will meet at least once per year, (may meet more frequently according to the interests of the group).
  • An annual report will be presented to the ACC Board of Trustees regarding the work of the committee.

Activities/Outreach

While CAC meetings provide a forum to discuss ACC and its role and to enhance planning and communication, Campus Advisory Committee meetings are also augmented by:
  • ACC participation in neighborhood associations and meetings of community-based organizations
  • ACC representation on all Chambers of Commerce
  • Participation in jointly-planned community activities, especially those relating to student outreach
  • Local surveys to solicit additional community input
  • Hosting community events and meetings
