Brett Grinkmeyer was born in Midland Michigan, but moved to Texas to escape the cold. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston and a Master of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). After graduate school he moved to Austin where he became a registered architect in the state of Texas. He has experience working in both commercial and residential architecture. He currently works for an architecture firm specializing in public and municipal projects in Austin. Brett joined the A&E CAD department as an adjunct faculty member in the fall of 2009 where he teaches Commercial Architectural Drafting.
