DFTG 1495 SolidWorks Course Syllabus

Course Description This course builds upon the outcomes and concepts presented in DFTG 1433 and focuses on advanced solid modeling techniques utilizing Solid Works parametric CAD software. Students will use Solid Works software to create solid geometry for individual machine parts, create assemblies from the individual parts and then produce engineering working drawings from the solid models.
Rationale This course is intended to give students workforce skills in the CAD field.
Instructional Methodology
  • Lectures introduce new material.
  • Exercises allow the instructor to lead students through the material the first time.
  • Projects provide opportunities for students to practice with the new tools on their own.
Prerequisites DFTG 1433 strongly recommended
