DFTG 2474 Architectural Modeling Course Syllabus

Course Description This course presents computer techniques used in the creation of three dimensional architectural models.
Rationale This course is intended to give students workforce skills in the CAD field.
Instructional Methodology
  • Lectures introduce new material.
  • Exercises allow the instructor to lead students through the material the first time.
  • Projects provide opportunities for students to practice with the new tools on their own.
Prerequisites DFTG 2412 or departmental approval
Objectives/Outcomes

Introduce the student to basic CAD wireframe techniques and modeling of architectural subjects as they apply to today’s computer based architectural, engineering and related offices.

Using previous knowledge and experience of 2D CAD drafting, expand their relationship to the process of creating 3D CAD architectural models.

Enhance ones ability to communicate with co-workers or clients and with specific software and hardware; create solid models for use in architectural and engineering offices.

Create realistic full color models, complete with materials, people and shade and shadows.

Grade Determination Grading policies are determined by individual instructors or course coordinators.
