MCHN 1419 Manufacturing Materials and Processes Course Syllabus

Course Description A basic study of various materials used in the metals industry and the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of various metals. Emphasis on manufacturing processes, including casting, forming, machining, and molding.
Rationale This course is intended to give students workforce skills in the CAD field.
Instructional Methodology
  • Lectures introduce new material.
  • Exercises allow the instructor to lead students through the material the first time.
  • Projects provide opportunities for students to practice with the new tools on their own.
Prerequisites High School Algebra or equivalent
