Real Estate Law: RELE 1309
A fascinating study of real estate law. Students do case studies in which they apply the law that they are learning to real situations. Instructor is a licensed attorney with a practice limited primarily to real estate and business entities.

Syllabus
Real Estate Brokerage
A study of law of agency, planning and organization, operation policies and procedures, recruiting, seelections and training of personel, records and control and real estate firm analysis and expansion criteria.
This class is required for brokerage licensing under TREC.
During this class you will write an office policy and prepare a business plan for your proposed brokerage business.

A study of contract law with an emphasis on TREC contract forms. During this course you will complete various TREC contracts using information provided by the instructor. At the conclusion of the class, students should have a firm grasp of all the provisions of the sales contract.
REAL ESTATE PRINCIPLES RELE 1406
An overview of real estate broker and salesman license, ethical practice, titles and conveyance of real estate, legal descriptions, law of agency, deeds, encumbrances and liens, personal and real property, contracts, appraisal, finance and regulations, closing procedures, real estate mathematics and federal, state and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit and community reinvestment.
