To be eligible for Work-Study placement, all students must:

Be awarded Work-Study funding through the Financial Aid office
at Austin Community College

Be an ACC student, currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours

Pass a criminal history background check

Attend Work-Study Orientation
A Work-Study award does NOT guarantee placement or ability to earn the full award.
Orientation process
All first time work-study students must attend an orientation session conducted by the Financial Aid Office. During this orientation, students are given information regarding eligibility, job referrals, job descriptions and any additional questions you might have. See your campus Financial Aid Office for more information.
Important information regarding Work-Study orientation:
- All Work-Study students undergo a criminal background check
- Current Work-Study students may be placed prior to orientation sessions
- If awarded after orientations have occurred please contact one of the financial aid offices
- You must bring your employment eligibility documents
(i.e., driver license, social security card, passport)
- No children are allowed at Work-Study orientations
Work-study Orientation Schedule
Group orientations are held at the beginning of the Fall semester. Students receiving work-study awards at other times throughout the year should contact the Financial Aid Office at the campus where they wish to be placed to conduct an individual orientation.
