Questions for Self-Analysis for Career Exploration

  1. What do you consider to be your greatest success in life thus far?
  2. List several things that you do well.
  3. What things do you like to be said about you?
  4. What do you like to do for fun?
  5. Describe two places where you feel comfortable.
  6. Discuss three people who have influenced you in positive ways.
  7. With whom do you strongly identify?  Describe these people in detail.
  8. How do you see yourself now?  How would you like to see yourself at this time next year?  How would you like to see yourself in five years?  Describe the way you would like to appear in ten years.

Be prepared to discuss your responses to these questions with a career counselor.  A counselor can assist you in examining your self-analysis in relation to results of interest, personality, and aptitude tests.
