Muntu

“Muntu” is a Kikongo word, it means both tree and person. Natalie Marlena Goodnow’s one-woman play is a reflection on the relationships that exist between trees and people, old Austin and its changing cultural landscape, and between the author and her many selves. It is an invitation to reflect.

“Welldigger”

A feature length film directed by Philip Randolph Fagan. “Welldigger” is a personal cinematic confessional of redemption as it follows the exploits of two homeless bohemians struggling to survive a Chicago winter and reclaim their lives. The film explores the dark side of the fantasy that is art, the limitations of art as religion, and the fine line between capitulation and selling out.

“Philip’s Shadow”

Philip Randolph Fagan a 2008 grant recipient of the Texas Filmmakers Production Fund presents “The Work of Philip Randolph Fagan: Philips Shadow” Philip Randolph Fagan’s namesake and uncle, Philip Norman Fagan was an enigmatic adventurer, actor and dancer who led one of the most interesting adventure-filled lives. He was the intimate companion to Andy Warhol and good friends with the likes of beatnik icons William Burroughs and Brion Gysin.

“What a Night”

“She’s Not My Sister”

A short film in progress directed by Nate Locklear. Regina and Fiona are sisters who wish they weren’t related. Tiffany and Kelly are sisters who can’t stand each other. In a few months they will all be step-sisters. Within their small three bedroom apartment personalities clash and tensions fly.
Director Nate Locklear will also show a trailer for his feature in progress “These Broken Bodies”.

“In 2 the West”

Based on the Austin 1980s classic “Into the West” which made it all the way to the Kennedy Center, “In 2 the West” updates and expands the voices of contemporary Texans, featuring monologues developed in ACC creative writing and drama classes. Working with Austin writers, actors, and directors, ACC students and faculty once again illustrate the collaborative possibilities that exist within Austin creative culture. Directed by Amparo Garcia Crow and Sidney Brammer both are adjunct faculty in the Creative Writing Department. Coproduced by the ACC Drama and Creative Writing Departments.
