Automotive Technology Registration Closed for this workshop

Monday June 6th - Evaporative Emissions diagnosis and training78 , 8 a.m. to noon.

Tuesday June 7th - Snap On Diagnostic Training 8 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. Bring your Snap On diagnostic platform (Snap On Verus, Modis, Ethos, etc), for questions, training, etc.

Wednesday June 8th - Ford Advanced Electronics -  day one of a two day class 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Thursday June 9th - Ford Advanced Electronics - day two of a two day class 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Instructor: Henry King, ACC Automotive and Outdoor Power Technology Department, a Ford representative, and a Snap On representative.

Vector Graphics: Advanced Illustrator Techniques Registration Closed for this workshop

Instruction in the construction, manipulation, and development of typographic letterforms. Creation of complex patterns and brushes for use in Adobe Illustrator.

Time will be allowed for other Illustrator topics of interest as well as discussion and demonstration of Mobile Apps integration within the Adobe Illustrator CC2016 work-flow.

 

Requirements:

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and ability to integrate its basic tools.

Digital Imaging 2: Advanced Photoshop Registration Closed for this workshop

Emphasis on creative aspects of electronic illustration for commercial and fine art applications. This includes an introduction to color management and correction for output to print as well as optimizing images for the web. Intermediate techniques will be reviewed to gain greater efficiency using masks and channels; pen and vectors; shortcuts and actions; type effects; and controlled use of layer styles, blending modes, filters and other special effects. Time will be allowed for other Photoshop topics of interest.

 

Requirements:

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and ability to integrate its basic tools.

Web Design 2: Advanced Registration Closed for this workshop

*First time ever!  Combined Computer Studies and Visual Communications Workshop*

Skill development in web programming according to World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards including mark-up and scripting languages. Emphasis on optimization for mobile devices using Bootstrap and editing web documents to create the effect of two or more columns (Page Layout), and building Tables in HTML and Javascript (using arrays and control structures). Exploration of tools available for creating and editing web documents.

 

Requirements:

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ability to integrate its basic tools.

Child Development Registration Closed for this workshop

The morning session topic will be Infant and Toddler Social-Emotional Well-being.  The afternoon session topic will be Characteristics of Effective Learning Environments for All Children.  There will be a tour of the Lab school the last 30 minutes of the workshop.

Digital Publishing 2: Advanced InDesign Techniques Registration Closed for this workshop

Digital layout procedures from first sketches to finalizing files for printing. Advanced skills within Adobe InDesign, including practice with complex styles: paragraph/character, object, table/cell. Emphasis on color coordination of Illustrator and Photoshop elements within an InDesign layout. Understanding of 4-color separation, Pantone colors, and types of printing papers. Time will be allowed for other InDesign topics of interest.

 

Requirements:

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and basic skills with Photoshop and Illustrator.

The Biotechnology is pleased to be offering two opportunities this summer. 

The AC2 Bio-Link Workshop for all high school teachers will be offered July 18 to July 21 at Anderson High School. 

The Stem Cell Teacher Academy will be offered from July 11 to July 15.

Hospitality and Culinary Arts Registration Closed for this workshop

The Hospitality Department will kick off the workshop with three fun activities to do with Introduction to Hospitality students.  These activities will touch on positions and organizational charts within hotels, restaurant lingo, and reading group resumes for events. You will then be hosted to lunch in the Bistro where you will be asked to critique the meal and the service. The final activity of the day will be 'How to be a Chocolate Snob'.  Chef Stephanie will guide you on a journey beginning with the manufacturing of chocolate continuing to chocolate tasting and ending with pairing suggestions.
