This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the art of Floral Design. Students will learn tools, mechanics, elements, and principles of design. Students will also learn cut flower identification, care, and handling. Students will make basic floral arrangements, which they will be able to take home.

Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various holidays, including Valentine's Day and Christmas. Designs learned can be modified for everyday occasions. Projects include centerpieces, wreaths, vases, bud vases and more. Floral Design Principles is recommended but not required as a prerequisite.

Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for various special occasions, including birthdays, Homecoming, new baby, and more. Designs learned can be modified for everyday occasions. Students will also have the opportunity to work with tropical flowers. Floral Design Principles is recommended but not required as a prerequisite.

Students in this course will learn sympathy designs such as casket sprays and easel pieces. This class also covers the business of floristry.

Students in this course will learn designs appropriate for weddings, including bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and ceremony and reception decorations. Floral Design Principles is recommended but not required as a prerequisite.

Students in this Design Class will learn the art of Floral design, using unique and cutting edge techniques. Students enrolled in this class must have finished the ACC Floral Design Series.
Course # FMKX 3000 / 12 hrs / $96 / $25 Lab / $3.50 Insurance / $75 Material
Students in this course will learn silk design techniques. This class covers wreaths, swag, and other home decor pieces. Dried flower techniques will also be discussed in the class.
