Configuring your Freesco box

1) Log in once again as root with the password root. Type setup and hit enter. This will present you with a screen press enter to continue and you get the main setup menu. Type "a" ad press enter to get the configuration options.

2) From here the first thing to configure would be the NIC. Type 82 and press enter to get the options for it. The default worked with the 3com ehterlink III ISA card i was using but I have not tested many other cards. Set the domain and computer name by typing 71 and pressing enter. Now you need to configure your IP address. Type 72 and press enter to do this. You should have options for DHCP, etc. this is also where you configure a range for the box if it is acting as a DHCP server. (for that you must use a static IP. If you do not it will freeze on boot.)

3) Once you have configured these options you should be ready to reboot and have a functional server. Be sure to change the root password and control http password to one you will remeber and that is a little better than root first. You can configure the rest of the services under the other numbers listed at the top of the screen. If you need help email me.
