As a nurse educator, my focus is to prepare the student to sucessfully enter the world of nursing. My particular areas of interest include care of the client with cardiac and urinary system dysfunction, management /leadership topics.
I am a native Austinite! My initial nursing education was at the Brackenridge Hospital School of Nursing. I obtained my BSN and MSN from the the University of Texas at Austin. Through the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses I received my ONC (Orthopedic Nurse Certification). Clinical experiences include staff nurse and charge nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Brackenridge Hospital and varied experiences as a staff nurse in multiple settings within the Austin community. I remain active in the clinical settings and serve as a legal consultant for various medical malpractice cases. For fun it is family, friends, reading (forsensic kinda stuff!), walking, and just enjoying each and every day!
