Chef Garrett Werley was born in California, but raised here in Austin, TX. He has over nine years experience in the restaurant industry having worked in positions such as kitchen manager, sous chef, and tournant. He has worked in many fine dining establishments including resorts, country clubs, and hotels. Chef Werley graduated from ACC with his Associates Degree in 2010 and began teaching the following year. He believes strongly that a good chef is well rounded in all aspects of Culinary Arts and he values having high standards. Garrett has extensive experience in garde mange and charcuterie – he does a mean melon carving! Chef Werley continues to work at the W Hotel in Austin and he teaches the course Introduction to Foods. In his spare time Garret brews his own beer.
