Building Construction Technology

Tools to build a career from the ground up

Austin Community College’s Building Construction Technology Program can help you build a successful career in the construction industry. Students gain experience in building and remodeling, from start to finish, and receive hands-on training with the tools, machinery, and equipment used at construction sites. Students also learn staff and resource allocation, planning, budgeting, and other project management skills needed to advance to project manager. Tracks in construction management, carpentry, and woodworking are offered.

Skills you will gain

Students develop expertise in areas including frame and trim carpentry, cabinetry and millwork, project scheduling, blueprint reading, project management, and cost estimation. Classes are kept intentionally small to ensure personalized attention and reinforcement of proper technique. Our instructors are accomplished construction professionals who bring their collective experience to the classroom. They take the time to make sure each student learns to be a skilled, safe, and productive worker.
